Jill Jernigan, M.Ed., LPC Associate
Licensed Professional Counselor
Jill Jernigan, M.Ed., LPC Associate, is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate practicing under the supervision of Dr. Denise Thatcher, Ph.D., LPC-S.
She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English and Elementary Education from the University of Texas at Arlington and her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Tarleton State University.
Jill began her career as an elementary school teacher, where she taught for 11 years before taking time to stay home and raise her four children. She later returned to public education as a school counselor. Now entering her 15th year as an elementary school counselor in Granbury, Texas, Jill brings extensive experience supporting children, teens, adults, and families through life’s challenges.
In her private counseling practice, Jill utilizes a compassionate, individualized approach, drawing primarily from Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and art and play therapy techniques.
She has experience helping clients navigate anxiety, trauma, depression, life transitions, and the effects of abuse. Rooted in her Christian faith, Jill believes in the hope and healing God provides and is honored to incorporate faith and prayer into counseling for clients who desire a Christian-based approach.
Jill has been married for 28 years and is the proud mother of four amazing young adults. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and hiking in the mountains whenever she has the opportunity.
Dr. Shannon Wolf recently retired as a Professor of Psychology and Counseling for B.H. Carroll Theological Seminary.
Dr. Wolf has published several works, including an article on forgiveness and reconciliation and a chapter in Treating Trauma in Christian Counseling (2017).
She earned her Ph.D. in Psychology and Counseling (2008) and her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling (2003) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Before serving as a full-time faculty member at Carroll Seminary, Dr. Wolf directed the Counseling Ministry at Southcliff Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, for 20 years. She is widely recognized in the counseling field as an expert in trauma.
Dr. Wolf speaks nationally and internationally and frequently serves as an expert witness in both state and federal trials involving victims of human trafficking.
Before becoming a professor, Dr. Wolf and her husband served as church planters in Budapest, Hungary, and Banja Luka, Bosnia. They continue to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through local outreach and short-term mission work.
Today, their primary mission field is Hood County, where they are dedicated to reaching their community for Christ.
